Allergen Award at Wavell HC3S , The Wavell School is an 11-16 mixed comprehensive in Farnborough, Hampshire. The school serves the civilian and military communities of North Camp, Farnborough and Aldershot and has approx. 930 on role.
The kitchen team is led by a Unit Manager; she has a Deputy Unit Manager and four Catering Assistants. There are four serving points, two on the main counter, one in a corner of the main hall, and one in a sports hall “C Block” The Main Hall doubles as an area for assemblies, and occasional indoor sports, and C Block is used as a drama studio and indoor sports.
We provide a breakfast service along with an early lunch (morning break) and late lunch service. We offer a range of foods, from full two course lunches, through hand held snacks, Pasta and Jacket Potatoes, and homemade Cakes, biscuits and cookies, fruit pots and vegetable sticks are always available.
The school has recently undergone a full re-vamp of its services; look and food offer and is re-launching in September 2017. HC3S provides food services to most of Hampshire schools as well as parks and council premises. During the audit process for the allergy aware scheme evidence was identified demonstrating professional “Added Value” and Food Allergen Customer Excellence. Julian Edwards, CEO of the scheme commented: “HC3S provide allergen newsletters, counter signage inviting customers to ask about allergens, regular training and a well thought out and structured approach to allergen management in schools.
The organisation has invested well in this and its lead operator Peter Stubbs has fully supported the scheme and taken on initiatives and challenges with determination and vigour to arrive at full compliance for the Wavell School.”
