The Clink Restaurant operates in partnership with Her Majesty’s prison services at: High Down, Cardiff, Brixton and Styal. The Clink Restaurants are fine dining prison training restaurants serving breakfast, lunch in all and Gourmet Dinners and Sunday lunches in Cardiff only.
Our restaurants have been designed to simulate a professional working environment, prisoners at each work a 40 hour week whilst working towards their City & Guilds NVQ qualifications in food and beverage Service and Professional Cookery.
The food offers a contemporary twist on traditional, British cuisine with menus created around all seasons.
The Clink Charity is a Founding Member of the Sustainable Restaurant Association (The SRA) and this is reflected impressively well in the seasonal dishes produced and in the home growing activities.
The Clink team has a unique opportunity to instill in its trainees the importance of allergen management in day to day operational activities. This will bode well when they meet with future employers.
The management and staff across the Clink organisation have all demonstrated a professional approach to training and commitment to high quality ingredients. Indeed the cuisine is exceptional as is the actual service!
If you have not yet visited a Clink outlet- please do so!
The Clink Charity is also the first catering training centre to become Allergen Accredited.
Support for The Clink Charity has been incredible and includes resources and facilities provided by the Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI) which is ongoing.
