Congratulations goes to the Ark Helenswood Academy in St Leonards- on-Sea for the renewal of their Allergen Accreditation status.
Ark Helenswood was the first in the UK to receive the award and 3 years on it has just been renewed.
This is a significant accolade and demonstrates how well the school has maintained its Food Allergen Customer Excellence.
More and more schools are reporting on the growing number of children coming in with food allergens. The Allergy Aware Scheme allows the Academy to demonstrate to parents and carers that it has a full allergen disclosure policy and can deal with any query relating to the ingredients (and allergens) in the catering department.
Catering Manager Michael Robinson (pictured) has always supported the scheme and has recently undergone accreditation himself by becoming a Senior Allergen Advisor. He is looking forward to his graduation day in September.
The ceo of Allergen Accreditation, Julian Edwards, was delighted by this milestone event stating: "We are an established allergy aware scheme and are truly thankful to Michael and the 100's of other caterers in the UK who have endorsed the scheme's ethos: led by the industry- for the industry. We really have set the bar and it's down to the Michael's of the world to keep this essential best practise model going."
Well done all at Ark Helenswood!
